CARE & CLEANING

Each piece is hand made by Adele in her studio. As with anything that is worn, the jewellery will change and wear over time. To keep it in the best possible condition, I recommend storing your pieces in an anti tarnish or ziplock bag, or even an airtight jar wrapped first in acid free tissue paper. Take care not to tangle chains as they can be damaged. Hollow pieces can become dented if mishandled or dropped. Slight scratches or indents become part of your jewellery’s history as it is worn and enjoyed.

Chemicals have an adverse effect on precious metals so please apply make-up, hairspray or perfume before putting on your jewellery.

CLEANING

Silver jewellery can be cleaned simply at home using basic household items. You will need very hot water, a heatproof bowl, aluminium foil and bicarbonate of soda powder.

Make sure the bowl is big enough to fully submerge the jewellery to be cleaned.

Line the bowl with aluminium foil with the shiny side facing upwards. Pour in the hot water, add a couple of tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda and place the jewellery in the solution making sure there is good contact with the foil.

After 5-10 minutes, rinse thoroughly under clean water, pat dry with kitchen paper until dry. For hollow items, hold the piece with a clean towel or cloth and use a hairdryer to ensure it is fully dry throughout. Please take care not to burn your hands with the hot cleaning and drying process. Point the hollow openings away from you and into an absorbent cloth

Gold (and silver) jewellery can be cleaned using a soft toothbrush, washing up liquid or cream cleaner (for a slightly mat finish) and warm water. Be sure to rinse and dry throughly as suggested above.

If you would prefer, I am happy to refresh the items for you for the cost of the postage plus £5 per piece.

More extensive repairs can be costed on an individual basis.
